Founder / Owner
Lou Styles
-- After 50 years working as a professional musician touring throughout the US and abroad, Lou decided to change gears and in 1978 opened Sounds and Music in La Verne, CA. Sounds and Music, much like a majority of music stores back then, was primarily a record store with only a few guitars and basses for sale. However, in 1983 he moved the store to our current location in Pomona, Ca, and changed the name to Styles Music. Since then, Styles Music has grown into one of the most successful independent music stores in Southern California today. Even after all these years of running the music store, at the young age of 81, Lou Styles still gigs monthly.
